We were struggling managing our debts and being self employed with variable income only made things worse. Thankfully working with DRS we have been able to make regular affordable repayments to suit our pocket knowing that we will one day be debt free.
Since my separation I found I was unable to manage my money and my debts were spiralling out of control. DRS have been a rock for me and my family and we feel so much happier knowing we can call them any time for help when needed.
A real weight was lifted right from the first call, now we are able to see the light at the end of the tunnel. It's going to take a while, but we are confident that with the help of DRS things are already improving.
It may not be obvious, but if you are short of cash there are really only two options. One is to decrease your spending, and the other is to increase your Income.
So how can you realistically increase your Income? To start with make a list of all the Income you receive, this could be wages, benefits, casual labour, income from odd jobs etc.
Then you can see eactly how much you have coming in which is a good place to start.
Next look at your main source of income, let's say it could be your main job. Are there any areas for increasing this income. Perhaps working extra hours, taking on overtime or additional shifts maybe?
Is it possible to apply for a higher grade position in the same organisation? If this draws a blank then it's time to look at other options.1. income
What free time do you have available during the week? One hour, two hours, or more? Then this could present a possibility to earn some extra income doing something you love.
For example, if you love taking your dog for a walk, why not offer to take another dog with you for a small fee on a regular basis ?
Maybe you also have a hobby or interest you could use to earn more money, perhaps some gardening, baking, babysitting etc.
There are also lots of opportunities to make extra cash by selling unwanted items online. This can include Ebay and other similar website who can buy old CD's, records and old mobile phones.
It's an ideal time to have a great clearout, and get rid of anything of value you no longer want or need. Car boot sales are expecially popular here in the UK and these can be a great additional income especially if you pal uo with a friend and share the cost of the pitch.
Whatever you decide to do, here is some food for though, and we would love to hear of any great ideas you have, so please get in touch.
